Elderberry Apple Yams- A new recipe made with our flagship Elderberry syrup!

Most Thanksgiving and other holiday dinners include some dish of yams or sweet potatoes. We don’t know if yams were served at the original thanksgiving feast, but we do know that we love to have them with our current Thanksgiving dinners!

Yams are one of the most nutritious carbohydrates at the dinner table, and adding apples and Elderberry Syrup only improves the dish and its nutrition profile. Some gardeners even consider yams to be the ultimate survival food due to their vitamins and nutrients. Eating some healthy fuel for our bodies never tasted so good! 

Go ahead and test out this new recipe for yourself, knowing that you are not only getting your daily Elderberry immune boost, but also some great body fuel!

Elderberry Apple Yams

2 large yams

6 Gala apples

1/4 cup Elderberry Syrup

1/4 cup olive oil

1/4 tsp salt

2 tsp cinnamon

Wash, peel, and cube yams and apples in bite size pieces. In a large bowl,
combine all ingredients and toss until the yams and apples are thoroughly
coated. Spread on a large baking tray. Bake at 375 degrees for 35-45
minutes, or until yams are fork tender. Serve immediately. Serves 10-12

Helpful Tips: We used Gala apples, but any baking apple is good, such as
Honeycrisp, Braeburn, or Jonagold. This is a family size recipe but can be
cut in half for smaller groups.
