How to Use Elderberry Cordial
Summer is just a few weeks away, and with it… hot Utah weather!
During the summer months a sweet, cold drink is especially appealing. Unfortunately, that means we often reach for the worst possible solution to our thirst. Heavily sweetened commercial drinks that are usually loaded with high fructose corn syrup, refined sugar, and other harmful additives.
According to Healthline (https://www.healthline.com) excess sugar in the diet leads to increased belly fat, weight gain, fat in the liver, poor dental health, and insulin resistance. Not to mention being addictive. *
Ugh.
What to drink instead?
Our teas are a great choice for cold summer drinks. But when you don’t have time to prep iced tea on a busy summer day, we’ve got a quick, tasty solution.
We combined four simple ingredients to create delicious summer drinks that quench your thirst, taste amazing, and carry all the benefits of elderberries to boot!

ELDERBERRY SPARKLING APPLE CRANBERRY
2 1/2 TBS thawed apple cranberry juice concentrate
1/2 TBS Elderberry Cordial
1 cup sparkling water
Apple slices for garnish
ELDERBERRY SPARKLING BLUEBERRY LIME
2 TBS raw sugar
1 TBS lime juice
1/2 TBS Elderberry Cordial
1 cup sparkling water
Fresh or frozen blueberries for garnish
ELDERBERRY SPARKLING STRAWBERRY LEMON
2 TBS raw sugar
1 TBS lemon juice
1/2 TBS Elderberry Cordial
1 cup sparkling water
Fresh or frozen strawberries for garnish
Directions: In a tall glass combine sugar, juice, and Elderberry Cordial. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved, unless using a juice only recipe. Then very slowly add the sparkling water, allowing foam to settle. Stir lightly to combine, add fruit garnish and ice if desired. If you prefer a lighter, less sweet drink add an extra ½ cup sparkling water. These recipes fill about a 12 oz. cup, when a garnish and ice are included. For larger servings, you can double the recipes.
