What is the stuff that I see inside the neck of the syrup bottle and is it safe to drink?

Why is the syrup so thin instead of thicker like other Elderberry Syrups in the stores?

What is the super thick stuff in the bottom of the syrup jar and is it safe to drink?

These questions all have the same answer:

It’s important to remember here is that this is an all-natural product. There are no artificial fillers, additives, thickeners, or sweeteners to make it more like the Elderberry Syrup you find in the stores. Each batch is still handmade on our family farm. There is sometimes pulp from the berries. There are cinnamon and other spices that have their own medicinal values but may stick to imperfections inside the glass bottles. There is honey that will thicken and settle on the bottom.

My advice with all of these questions is to shake it up good. You can rest assured that this Elderberry Syrup was lovingly handmade by a mom or grandma or aunt or uncle just for you. The recipe is the same. The process is the same. Our product and process have been lab tested and certified as being safe by our state authorities. Each batch is still tested and double checked. Sometimes we have to get used to going back to homemade food with imperfections after being used to processed medications and supplements but you’re good to go – Enjoy!
